Friends of Hanover Soccer Fundraising Appeal
Good Morning! Sorry for the late posting! We had an excellent parent-player meeting last night on the Merriman-Branch Field bleachers. We were dubious about the location and timing, but the lack of indoor options necessitated the setting, and it worked extremely well. Although there wasn't a ton of new information imparted, it was particularly important to put names and faces together, and introduce you to the JV12, JV2 and Freshman coaches. It's an impressive group, and we are particularly fortunate to have coaches who work at HHS. Their accessibility in the building makes them even more valuable as advisors and mentors.
Following the main meeting, the Varsity parents got together to talk about many of the duties that are associated with keeping that team running. The time demands for the players are more significant (more weekend and evening training sessions, longer season) and sometimes staging games is more complicated. Rumor has it that few parents escaped without making a donation to the Friends of Hanover Soccer, kicking off our brief, unidimensional Capital Campaign.
That's the gist of this post, which is now aimed at the parents specifically. It takes more money to run this ambitious program for 90 players, six coaches and four teams than the parsimonious HHS budget allocation allows. I have detailed this in a previous posting. We need money for uniform replacements for all four teams, mileage and expenses for volunteer coaches (we have several of these), preseason expenses, and many other equipment and logistical needs. Please consider making a non tax deductible (sorry!) donation and sending a check payable to the Friends of Hanover Soccer, and mailing it today to:

We need your help, and are grateful for your support. End of Capital Campaign!
