WEATHER ALERT: NO PRACTICES AT DRESDEN TODAY

 The practices for JV1, JV2, and Freshman boys soccer have been cancelled for Wednesday.  A weather forecast that calls for a high probability of heavy rain, strong winds, lightning, and chance of tornadoes suggests that this is a good day to stay snug at home and catch up on homework.

Varsity training on the turf at 6:30 is still scheduled.  We will see if the storms pass by then.  Check your chat.

Hanover Honors Award Winners at Soccer Celebration

 All four HHS boys teams gathered Wednesday night to celebrate the season, recognizing every player and honoring a number of award winners. Freshman coaches Jason Hirschhorn and Ned Harris gave out a number of "fun" awards, and cited nine players, all listed below.  JV2 Coach Ian Caldwell praised his team for its growth over the course of the season, playing a full schedule after last year's limited slate of games. Varsity Rallies From Three Down to Beat BG 8-3

 In one of the more astonishing games in Hanover's long history, the Varsity trailed Bishop Guertin by three goals with 27 minutes to play, and scored eight goals, including five in a five-minute span, to beat the Cardinals 8-3.  The win gives Hanover am 11-3-1 record and all but locks them into a top four spot in the Division One standings, providing they can get a result in Thursday's Senior Day clash with Winnacunnet. Going into the match with Bishop Guertin, a team likely to finish out of the playoffs, Hanover expected to score a lot of goals and play everyone on the team.  That all happened, but hardly to way the anyone might have anticipated.  Hanover started the game flat, trailed after eight minutes, conceded another shaky goal on the 23rd minute, and then after Eric Ringer missed a penalty kick the would have cut the deficit in half, conceded a shocking third goal with five minutes to play, the second by the speedy Rayaan Hameed. Varsity Back on Track With 3-0 Win Over Portsmouth

Hanover responded to the challenge of a tough week, returning to their home turf and delivering a solid   3-0 victory overt Portsmouth on Saturday.  After a scoreless first half, Hanover scored three times in a thirteen minute stretch, with two goals by Jack Gardner and the game-winner by Oscar. Each striker hit the three-goal mark, and the Hanover defense in front of goalkeeper Ty Nolon recorded their third shutout of the season. Charged with focusing on defense in the opening minutes, having conceded goal in the first five minutes of two of their last three games, Hanover nevertheless came within inches of falling behind again, this time inside the first two minutes.  Frank Coviello found a weak spot in the Hanover back eight and got off a hard shot.  Ty Nolon dove to his left to make the save, but spilled the rebound, and Clipper Adrian Degnan was first to the ball, missing just to the outside of the right post.  Way too close for comfort.  Thereafter in...
