JV2 Beats Fall Mountain 3-0: "Best Performance as a Team"
Hanover JV2 got their third win of the season with their best performance as a team, beating Fall Mountain 3-0 on the road. The team started in high spirits after finding out about the reunion of the ‘Triangle of death’ for tonight’s match. Guest players, Soren Stettenheim and Liam Worden, in combination with Captain Alex Bracket form the most feared triangle this side of the Mississippi.
The boys started in equally high spirits, jumping from the start of the match to get the ball back and start a counter. Trevor Lichtenstein and Liam Foston had several wonderful moments of interchange on the right flank, unlocking Soren behind the defense and looking to cross the ball. Eventually, after twenty minutes of pressing, Foston fed Soren down the right flank who’s first time cross found an unmarked Simon Taenzer for his fourth of the season.Liam Foston turned creator again just 5 minutes later with a perfectly taken corner that found the forehead of Alex Brackett who thundered the ball home with force, 2-0. Hanover was eager to start again and right from kickoff managed to nick the ball off a Fall Mountain defender before Alex Bracket flicked the ball into the path of Finn Duncan who nodded the ball over an on rushing keeper and into the back of the net. A flurry of attacking play put the JV2 boys up for good. Quality midfield play from Liam Worden, Liam Foston, Trevor Lichtenstein, Aaron Nyhan, and Jack Wilkinson kept the ball with our forwards who were able to attack with wave after wave, though to no avail.
An incredibly strong back line of Bouchard, Ashton, Sklarin, and Chou kept Hanover’s fourth clean sheet of the season too. Iver Skogerboe oozed leadership all night, marshaling the defense and coming off his line to collect the ball with immense courage. Jason Adanortey almost picked up his first goal of the season too but was stopped just short by a good save down low. Will Taylor knuckled a shot from 30 yards out that just barely grazed the top of the crossbar, what a goal that could’ve been. An excellent night all around from the team, we look onwards and upwards to the next!
